Volunteers

Volunteering

We welcome volunteers in our schools! Our main priority is the safety of all students, so please fill out a new volunteer application each school year. Your volunteer application through Raptor, our volunteer and visitor management system, authorizes CPSD to conduct a background check through Washington State Patrol.

Volunteer activities vary from school to school. Through Raptor, you can select where you want to volunteer and the type of activity you enjoy.

There are two easy steps to complete as part of the volunteer application process—they must be completed in this order.

1. Complete Required Training in Vector

All volunteers need to complete two online trainings through Vector Solutions:

  • Understanding Boundaries
  • Volunteer Handbook

Click here to access the trainings.

Click here to access the spanish-language training.

Create a username and register with your first and last name. By confirming your email, you can re-enter the site at any time.

If you already have an account in Vector Solutions, click the "here" link and enter your email. You will be sent an email to enter your existing account. Volunteer trainings are required annually. You will be reminded through Raptor when your volunteer status is expiring with opportunity to renew 30 days before your expiration date.

Take a screenshot, picture or download a copy of your certificates. You will need to upload both certificates along with your driver’s license or state ID card when you fill out your volunteer application.

2. Complete Your Volunteer Application in Raptor

Once your volunteer training is complete, you are ready to fill out your volunteer application through Raptor. (English | Spanish) Make sure you enter your name exactly how it reads on your state or government issued license or ID card. You will also need a valid email address. All communication about your application will come via email from Raptor.

Volunteer Coaches

You need the approval from a head coach or school athletic director before filling out a Volunteer application through Raptor. Once approved, Volunteer Coaches will be giving additional trainings to complete before they are allowed to engage on a field, track or court. Volunteer coaches are also required to complete other training before entering a field, court or track.

If you have any questions about the application or you experience any problems with submitting documents, Please Contact Holly Bocchi; the district Volunteer Coordinator.

Here’s the process:

  • Fill in your student information.
  • List the school(s) where you want to volunteer.
  • List the kinds of jobs you want to do.
  • If you help with sports, list those too.
  • Under the age of 18? A parent will need to sign electronically.
  • Your principal and the principal of the school where you want to volunteer at need to say yes.
