Dear Thomas Families,  

At Thomas, we embrace the value of educating all students to be lifelong collaborative learners who demonstrate character and leadership. As educators, we believe ALL students can and will be successful.

We have begun the second semester of our school year. Please work with us to teach academic and behavioral values by encouraging your child to demonstrate their best work and best selves at school and at home.

Events to make a note of this month:

• Winter Sports at Thomas: Girls Soccer, Boys Basketball.
• After School Titan Center/YMCA programs and activities are open to all students Monday through Friday. Students ride the activity bus home at 5:30 p.m.
• Thursday, February 13th is our First-semester grade-level academic and 4-Pillar awards assemblies. Assemblies will be in the gymnasium.
  • 7th Grade @ 9:05 a.m.
  • 8th Grade @ 10:05 a.m.
  • 6th Grade @ 1:35 p.m.
• February 13th – 16th is Presidents Day Weekend. We will see everyone back ready to learn on Tuesday, February 17th.
• Saturday, February 14th: Valentine’s Day. Share your Love!
• Wednesday, February 18th: Muffins with Mom’s at 9:00 a.m. in the library.
• Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) meets at 5:00 p.m. in the library.
• Wednesday, February 25th: Principal Coffee and Conversation with parents in the library.
• Wednesday, February 25th: the district Parents Connections Council meets
• Our Black History Month assembly will be Thursday, February 27th at 2:30 p.m. More information will be sent to you regarding this assembly.

As a family, discuss and share what the word love means to you as a family. Both Saint Valentine and Martin Luther King shared this word as the most prominent focus of their work.

We appreciate and are thankful for our families serving in the military at JBLM and around the world.
