Titans, We’re Off to a Great Start!

It has been wonderful welcoming our students back to Dr. Claudia Thomas Middle School and seeing our hallways and classrooms come to life again. As we settle into the school year, I am excited about what we are building together.

As we move through September, our focus is on building strong routines and making sure students feel connected and ready to learn. We know that a strong start matters, and our staff is working hard to help students find their rhythm and be successful.

This month, we are also kicking off our first Titan Trait Challenge. Throughout the year, we will recognize students for being Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Ready to Learn, and Compassionate. Students can earn PBIS points and recognition when staff see them demonstrating these traits around our school.

Our theme this year is The Year We Build Together, and I am excited about the start we have made. Thank you to our families for your partnership and support. We are looking forward to a great September!

The First Day of School

Wednesday, September 2nd 
9:00 am –3:30pm
The first day of school is one of the most important days of the year. Student attendance helps us build classroom communities, finalize schedules, and ensure our school receives the funding needed to provide the best possible educational experience for all students. We look forward to welcoming every Titan on the first day!

Grade Level Behavior Expectations Assemblies

Thursday, September 10th and Friday, September 11th
Students will participate in grade-level assemblies focused on school expectations, Titan Traits, and building a positive school community.

Laptop Distribution

Tuesday, September 15th - Friday, September 18th.
Students will receive their school laptops and chargers during the school day.

Spirit and Recognition Assembly

Friday, September 25th
Students will come together to celebrate school spirit, recognize student accomplishments, and build Titan pride.

Open House

5:30 pm –7:30 pm
As we continue “The Year We Build Together,” Open House is an opportunity for families and teachers to connect, strengthen partnerships, and work together to support every student's success.

Picture Day

Thursday, October 8th
Students will get their 2026-27 school picture taken during the school day.
